Os Exilados

“Os exilados” or “The Exiled” is a journey into the stories of Brazilian artists exiled as a result of the 1964 dictatorship. Together, Brazilian musicians Carmen Sandim and Michele Castro bring an enlightening variation on profound socio-political music to the stage as a dynamic musical powerhouse. You’ll hear Tropicalist and Bossa Nova tunes from greats such as Chico Buarque, João Bosco and Milton Nascimento.

About the music:
Over her 30+ year relationship with music, Carmen has explored a wide variety of music styles including performing with a Symphony orchestra, composing TV jingles, playing with rock bands, scoring for independent movies, arranging for Big Band, and leading her own Jazz Quartet! Carmen has cultivated her musical voice through the exploration of as many musical styles as her path will cross (except for Country music, which she won't touch for less than a million dollars!).
